Motorcycles, speeders, racers all target of Burlington police blitz

You have been warned.

Halton Regional Police will be running a motorcycle and stunt driving safety blitz this weekend with a focus on Burlington’s north end.

“(This is) aimed at keeping roads safer for all who use them,” police said via social when announcing the campaign. “Please drive carefully.”

The campaign arrives as police have recently reported a large number of cases of aggressive driving.

In particular, drivers are being caught going at excessive speeds, often doing double the posted speed limit.

Police have noted that the City’s north end is often used for aggressive driving, especially on more secluded or rural routes that have long, interrupted traffic flow.

The term stunt driving is all-encompassing and can mean speeding, racing, driving aggressively, or, as the name suggests, performing stunts.
