Multiple arrests made in Burlington drug bust

Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) have made several arrests in connection to drug trafficking in Burlington. 

Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) have made several arrests in connection to drug trafficking in Burlington. 

After an investigation by the Burlington Street Crime Unit that began in April 2020, HRPS has arrested five people on a myriad of charges including drug trafficking and weapons possession. 

Twenty-five-year-old Naithan Bachiu-Tait from Hamilton, 25-year-old Ashley Jacobsen-Smith from Hamilton, 27-year-old Amanda Harper from Hamilton, 27-year-old Edlyn Miller from St. Catharines, and 28-year-old James Shields from Hamilton have all been arrested and face multiple charges. 

Additionally, on May 8, police searched multiple residences in Hamilton and St. Catharines and seized: 

  • 90 grams of Crystal Meth
  • 7 grams of Crack Cocaine
  • 1.5 grams of Fentanyl
  • $2,252.00 Canadian currency
  • 6 cellular phones
  • 5 digital scales
  • Pair of Brass Knuckles
  • 2 Flick Knives

Police estimate the value of the drugs seized to be $7,400.
