Multiple firearms and illegal drugs seized from Milton residence

Police say on December 10, 2020, the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) made two arrests and seized several firearms from a residence on Campbellville Road in Milton.

According to police, in addition to several unauthorized firearms and ammunition, investigators also located and seized stolen property, 22 grams of methamphetamine and 53 oxycodone pills.

Police say this investigation was completed by the 1 District Criminal Investigations Bureau, Street Crime Unit and the criminal code search warrant was executed with the assistance of the HRPS Tactical Rescue Unit.

As a result of the investigation, Brendan Holmes-Gillies, a 26-year-old from Milton was charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm (x3), knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm (x3), contravention of storage regulations (x3), careless storage of a firearm (x3), contravention of storage regulations, careless storage of ammunition (2) and possession of methamphetamine.

Robert Gillies, a 56-year-old from Milton was charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm (x3), knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm (x3), contravention of storage regulations (x3), careless storage of a firearm (x3), contravention of storage regulations, careless storage of ammunition, possession for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine, possession for the purpose of trafficking – oxycodone and possession of property obtained by crime under $5000.00.

According to police, both accused have been released from custody pending a court appearance in Milton.
