NBA announces it will be suspending the season indefinitely

The NBA has announced it will be suspending the season indefinitely due to the spread of COVID-19.

The decision comes after a conversation between the owners and the league office regarding what the Association would due regarding concerns of the spread of the virus.
While early announcements were that the league would continue without fans attending games, as some other sports leagues have opted to do, the association opted to suspend the season instead after it came out that Rudy Gobert of the Utah Jazz tested positive for the virus.
It is unclear when Gobert contracted the virus, but there is cause for Raptors fans to be concerned, as the Jazz hosted the 2019 defending champions–who are already dealing with a string of injuries–on Monday night.
Currently, according to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Jazz and Oklahoma City Thunder are under quarantine in the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City–the two teams were scheduled to play tonight, but the game was postponed just seconds before tipoff after news broke of Gobert’s test results.

According to Wojnarowski, the NBA will use the hiatus to determine what the next steps for the Association will be.
