Oakville Transit appears to be the way to go for Oakville residents looking to attend Friday’s Canada Day celebration at Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park.

Road closures will be in effect and that means there will be no parking available near the event, but there will be a transit connection to help get you there.

A new partnership between Metrolinx and Oakville Transit will make the festivities more convenient by allowing those attending the event to park at Bronte GO Station and take the Oakville Transit shuttle to and from Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park.

Local residents can park at Bronte GO Station and take the Oakville Transit shuttle to the park. Riders will only have to pay one way to park and ride the shuttle.

You can use your PRESTO card at the applicable rate or pay $4 per person cash (exact change). Children under the age of 12 ride for free.

The Oakville Transit shuttle to and from Bronte GO Station will begin at 5:30 p.m. and run every 10 minutes.

The last shuttle to Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park will depart from Bronte GO Station at 9:30 p.m., and the last shuttle returning to Bronte GO Station will leave the park at 11 p.m.

All Oakville Transit shuttles are accessible, wheelchair and stroller friendly.

Those looking to take a shuttle are being encouraged by Metrolinx to plan their trip in advance.
