New 19-storey tower development expected to get thumbs up from Milton council

A developer wants to build a 19-storey residential tower in an industrial area just west of Milton Mall.
The development would bring 266 residential units along with 3,000 sq.-ft. of retail/office space to 155 Nipissing Rd. There would also be a three-level underground parking lot with 272 parking spaces and 68 electric vehicle spaces.
The site backs onto the rail tracks and is currently occupied by a two-storey building with an automotive repair and collision centre.
There would also be outdoor amenities totalling 1,139 sq.-m. located on the ground level, the 16th floor and the rooftop. Another 590 sq.-m. amenity area would be indoors.
The land is with the Milton Mobility Hub, a strategic growth area around the Milton GO station which has a focus on high-density uses.
“Town staff and our agency partners are satisfied that the application for the zoning by-law amendment as presented through this report, conforms to the applicable Provincial, Regional and Town land use planning policies and regulations,” says a report that will come before council next week.
