The Canadian National Pickleball League finals are being held Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 in Mississauga.

Three outdoor basketball half courts will be converted into three pickleball courts at Milton Community Park later this year.

The conversion will begin this month and will continue throughout the summer.

The two remaining full basketball courts will be open all summer, but the work area will be closed to the public during construction to keep the community safe.

In addition to these two outdoor basketball courts, residents are encouraged to use the basketball courts at Ford Neighbourhood Park, located at 1400 Leger Way, Bronte Meadows Park, located at 165 Laurier Ave. and Sunny Mount Park, located at 255 Ruhl Dr.

The new pickleball courts will be accessible and open to the public and will include sports court perimeter fencing, acrylic-coat colour surfacing and line painting, and permanent nets.

In response to the news, the Milton Pickleball Association tweeted, “This is such fantastic news! Thank you @TownOfMiltonON for supporting this booming sport!! On behalf of the 200+ and growing membership here in Milton, we thank you!”

The courts are expected to open in the fall.
