This is how the new playground should look at Lampman Park

A Burlington park is getting a facelift.

Work on Lampman Park, located at 1691 Lampman Ave., is expected to begin in July and last for just over two months.

When complete, the park will have a new look.

The project will include:

  • Replacement of playground equipment and swings
  • Installation of wood chip surfacing
  • New concrete transition curbs for accessibility into playground areas
  • Redesigned, larger basketball court and winter neighbourhood ice rink
  • New basketball net
  • Path improvements
  • New benches/seating
  • New drinking fountain and plumbing upgrades
  • New line painting in the existing parking lot
  • New soccer posts
  • Garden bed improvements
  • Trees

To ensure safety during construction, most of the park will be closed and fenced off. Access to the existing parking lot, for public use, will be accommodated as much as possible, during construction, according to the City.

Information gathered through a community survey was used by the playground designers when deciding which pieces of play equipment to include in the park playground.
