New restaurant will bring authentic Middle Eastern food to Milton

A popular Arabian restaurant will be opening its doors soon in Milton.
Located on the northwest corner of Derry Rd. and Ontario St., Mandi Afandi will be opening its third location, joining ones in Mississauga and East York.
Described as a restaurant with authentic Arabian cuisine and hospitality, the website says they recreate iconic traditional dishes from across the Arabian Peninsula.
“Mandi Afandi aims to bring the familiar flavors that you know and love right here to the GTA. Our goal is to make you feel at home, with our aromatic oud, and our fresh qahwa (coffee) that greets you as you wait for your delicious meal.”
On the starters menu are items like lamb soup, vegetable tabeekh, fasolia, moussaka and bamyeh.
Featured main courses include chicken or lamb madhbi, madfoon, haneedh, zurbian, sayadiyah, thareed, chicken or lamb jareesh or mathlootha.
Family platters are also available that will feed four to five people.
Desserts include a banana and bread pudding called masoob, and kunafa, with cheese, cream or Nutella and cream.
No firm opening date has been given, but keep your eyes open for a taste of the Middle East.
