lotter Oakville winner

Navjit Badwal of Oakville thought it was a glitch.

When he checked his lottery ticket on the OLG app the message popped up that he was a winner…a big winner.

“I thought maybe it was a glitch,” he said. “I scanned it a couple more times and spent the rest of the evening processing it, The next day I took my ticket to the store. It was surreal.”

Badwal, 41, said he is not a regular lottery player but when he hears of others who win it gives him the urge to play.

On a recent visit to the store, he saw a sign promoting Instant Gold Pursuit and thought he would give it a shot.

It was the right decision. He is now $100,000 richer thanks to the scratch game.

Even though it has been a few days since his winnings, he says he still can’t believe his good fortune.

“Until you’re at the Prize Centre, you still wonder if it’s true. I could get used to this,” he laughed.

He plans to invest for his future and put some aside for fun. “Maybe a European adventure to see more of the world.”

The winning ticket was purchased at Preserve Convenience on Preserve Dr. in Oakville.
