Police impound a car on a Burlington residential street.

A Burlington driver received a double-dip of infractions when pulled over by Halton Regional Police today (April 24).

According to officers at the scene, a car was clocked going 91 m/h in a 40 km/h zone in the area of Longmoor Dr. and Inverary Rd. around 3:30 pm.

Police also say the driver was using “track mode” on the vehicle which bypasses the normal muffler system thereby creating excessive noise.

As a result, the driver faces charges of stunt driver (speeding in this case) and using an improper muffler.

Initially, the charges lead to the vehicle being impounded for 14 days and the driver having their license suspended for 30 days.

As is the case with Highway Traffic Act cases in Ontario the name of the driver has not been released.
