Oakville construction to begin soon at Vista Promenade and Water’s Edge shoreline

The Town of Oakville is planning some updates at Vista Promenade and Water’s Edge shoreline.
The work will include replacement and repairs of the shoreline protection, landscaping improvements as well as widening and asphalt paving of the existing pathway.
These updates will begin the last week of November 2020, and weather permitting.
Due to the works including the use of heavy construction equipment, pathways will be closed off to the public during construction for the safety of the town’s residents.
Primary access for construction equipment will be via Ontario St. where it meets East St. at the park entrance.
Access will be required at additional trail entry points further to the east periodically to facilitate the construction of the portion of the shoreline along Water’s Edge but access to residential homes will not be affected.
Construction is scheduled to start at the end of this month and the majority of works will be complete by the end of March 2021 (weather dependent).
Restoration, trail improvements and landscaping will be carried out when weather permits in spring 2021.
