Oakville hockey twins transfer to Arizona State University
Oakville twin brothers Ty and Dylan Jackson are taking their hockey talent to the sunny state of Arizona.
The two siblings have agreed to transfer to Arizona State University after spending the last two years at Northeastern University in Boston.
The two forwards are among the five transfers signed this week by the Sun Devils hockey team.
Also joining the roster for the 2022-23 will be forwards Robert Mastrosimone (Boston University) and Lukas Sillinger (Bemidji State), and goaltender TJ Semptimphelter (Northeastern University).
“The level of talent with this transfer group is off the charts,” said Arizona State head coach Greg Powers. “All five of these players could have gone anywhere they wanted, so we are thrilled and honored they chose to be Sun Devils.
“The best thing about all of them is they each have multiple years of eligibility which most of them will take at ASU. We’re looking forward to opening up our new arena with such a talented group of players.”
Ty (pictured below on left) had 32 points in 49 games for Northeastern last season, finishing his sophomore season fifth in Huskies’ team scoring.
The five-foot-eight, 161-pound forward was named to the Hockey East All-Academic Team in 2020-21.
He also played with the Dubuque Fighting Saints of the USHL for the last two seasons.
Dylan (pictured below on right) got into 29 games with Northeastern over the last two years.
The five-foot-10, 165-pound forward finished fifth in Hockey East freshman scoring with 14 points in his rookie campaign.
He spent much of last season injured, getting into only eight games for the Huskies and totalling three points.
Dylan, alongside his brother, also played for the Dubuque Fighting Saints.
