Oakville will ‘Light Up the Night’ November 17 as the Christmas and holiday season officially gets lift-off in Towne Square.

The tree lighting ceremony will be at 5:30 p.m. and you can also take a stroll through the town’s urban centre to check out the spectacular lighting display and enjoy live entertainment with CW Carolling Champions The Sugar Plums.

The Sugarplums perform holiday favorites a cappella style with a vintage flair, with harmonies bringing back memories of the Andrews Sisters. Showtimes are at 5:30, 6:30, 7:30 and 8:30.

There are also horse and carriage rides around the historic downtown, with pick up at Robinson Street in Towne Square. Kids of all ages can stop in at Santa’s Cabin in Centennial Square as well.

Christman shoppers haven’t been forgotten either, with participating shops staying open late.

Light Up the Night celebrations will go from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
