Oakville Longo’s worker tests positive for coronavirus

A worker at a Longo’s location in Oakville has tested positive for COVID-19.

The company reports the worker was based at its is location at 469 Cornwall Rd. and was detected yesterday (Oct. 26).

A statement by the company says the employee last worked at the location on October 17 and that all other workers who came in contact have been instructed to stay home and self-monitor. They will continue to be paid.

“Public health officials assure us that the risk of grocery shopping remains low and we continue to partner with them to do everything possible to limit the risk to team members and guests,” the statement reads adding that all stores go through regular deep cleanings and sanitation.

The store remains open.
