Oakville Man Claiming to be Doctor Charged with Sexual Assault

An Oakville man who claims to be a medical practitioner is facing charges in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a patient in Mississauga.

An Oakville man who claims to be a medical practitioner is facing charges in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a patient in Mississauga.

Peel police recently reported that investigators with the force’s Special Victim’s Unit have charged 53-year-old Alan Canon in relation to a sexual assault incident. 

Police say that on Saturday, June 3, the female victim went to a Mississauga clinic operated by the accused and was subsequently sexually assaulted. 

Canon was arrested and charged with sexual assault on Monday, June 5. He was held for a bail hearing on Tuesday, June 6.

Police say Canon claims to be a medical doctor, neurosurgeon and osteopath with over 20 years of combined experience. He is also known to use an alternate name, Oleg Kanaykhne, professionally at his clinic.

The investigation is ongoing and police would like to speak with any potential victims or witnesses.
