Oakville man charged after woman sexually assaulted by someone she met on dating app

An Oakville man is facing charges after a woman was sexually assaulted by someone she says she met through a dating app.

Members of the Halton Regional Police Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Unit arrested a man on Thursday (April 6) after conducting a sexual assault investigation.

The woman said she met a man through a dating app and was also contacted by him on her social media.

Police say the sexual assault is alleged to have taken place at the home of the man.

Investigators say there may be additional victims.

Gurpreet Sandhu, 33, of Oakville, is charged with one count of sexual assault.

He was held pending a bail hearing Thursday in Milton court.
