Oakville men face 36 charges in car vandalizing spree

Two Oakville men have been charged with a total of 36 counts of mischief for their alleged involvement in the vandalization of multiple vehicles.

Cody Peer (19) and Zackary Ruggiero (20) were arrested on Saturday and released on a promise to appear in court.

Between Oct. 26 and Nov. 1, the Palermo Region of Oakville was subject to a series of property damage incidents to unoccupied vehicles. Halton Police say the damage “involved rocks, patio stones, or other objects of opportunity being thrown at or through windshields of vehicles parked in residential driveways”.

No thefts were reported from any of the damaged vehicles, according to police. They say the approximate cost to repair each vehicle was estimated between $500 and $1,000.
