Oakville mother charged in apparent drowning of two-year-old child

Halton Regional Police have charged a mother of a two-year-old child who was found dead in the bathtub of an Oakville residence last June.

Police began the investigation into the sudden death after the child was found deceased on June 4, 2022 in what appeared to be an apparent drowning.

The HRPS Homicide Unit conducted an extensive investigation and as a result laid charges Friday (March 3) against the mother of the child.

Nancy Fahmi, 42, of Oakville has been charged with the following:

• Manslaughter
• Criminal Negligence Causing Death

Fahmi is next scheduled to appear in Milton Court later this month on March 23.
