Oakville students receive academic scholarship from local women’s club

A group of young female students are being rewarded financially for their dedication and hard work in the classroom.
The 18 students from various Oakville schools are recipients of the 2022 University Women’s Club of Oakville Scholarship Fund awards presented by the Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW).
Local students will receive a $27,500 scholarship to help them along the educational path they seek in the future.
“These young women were selected from the city’s publicly funded high schools, based on high academic achievement, outstanding community service, and demonstrated leadership,” CFUW said on in the media release announcing the scholarship winners.
The annual scholarships are made possible through donations from CFUW members, their families, and friends.
Some are due in part to the families of Richard Garnett, Ruth Schatz, Lilian Fulford and Miriam White, who honour their memories of a loved one with a named scholarship.
