Oakville woman charged following assault on parking enforcement officer

An Oakville resident has been arrested following a dispute over a parking ticket in Toronto.

According to police, the incident unfolded just after 11 a.m. on April 12 in the area of Baldwin and Beverley Sts. in Toronto.

Toronto Police say an enforcement officer observed a vehicle that was double parked and told the driver to move.

While the officer was issuing a parking ticket, police say another person came from out of a nearby house approached the officer and allegedly pushed him in the chest.

Police say the driver then got out of the vehicle and the two began yelling at the officer.

On Wednesday, police charged 58-year-old Ever Nyakachanga with assaulting a peace or public officer.

She has a scheduled court appearance on June 1.
