Drugs and weapon charges filed against Oakville woman

An Oakville woman is one of five people charged in connection with an OPP drug investigation that resulted in the seizure of numerous drugs, drug trafficking paraphernalia and weapons.

Members of the OPP, including street crime units from Halton Region, Dufferin, Caledon, Collingwood/Huronia West, Muskoka, Nottawasaga, and Southern Georgian Bay, executed search warrants in Oakville, Orangeville and Bolton on Wednesday (June 21).

The multi-jurisdictional drug investigation would result in the seizure of numerous drugs, including cocaine (2.798 kg), oxycodone tablets (517), hydrocodone liquids (1,100 milligrams) methylenedioxymethamphetamine (285.6 grams), lorazepam/clonazepam (208), psilocybin mushrooms (20.1 g).

Police also collected a high-capacity magazine, operating scales, a cocaine press, packaging material, 60 packages of contraband tobacco and $305 in Canadian money.

All those charged have not been named by police.

The 24-year-old woman from Oakville is charged with

  • Possession of a substance for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine)
  • Possession of a substance (methylenedioxymethamphetamine)
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over 5,000
  • Possession of prohibited device or ammunition

Unnamed residents of Orangeville and Caldeon have also been charged with similar crimes. Charges against a 23-year-old Oakville man are pending, police say.
