While almost everyone knows Winterlicious is about to kick off in Toronto, they should also be aware they don’t have to travel too far east to enjoy a special prix-fixe menu celebration.

While almost everyone knows Winterlicious is about to kick off in Toronto, they should also be aware they don’t have to travel too far east to enjoy a special prix-fixe menu celebration.

A Taste of Oakville 2018 is scheduled to run from Jan. 24 until Feb. 7. To be clear, Taste of Oakville is not a Winterlicious event. It is not, however, dissimilar.

Basically, about 30 participating Oakville restos are offering guests affordable, prix fixe lunch and dinner options that will, ideally, draw in more casual diners and highlight local cuisine.

Participating restaurants include:

  • Borgo Antico
  • Bru
  • Cucci
  • Jonathan’s
  • Julia’s
  • La Parisienne Creperie
  • Paradiso
  • Piazzo Bistro
  • Plank
  • Seasons
  • Yolanda’s

Diners can enjoy a few course options for lunch priced at $12, $17, and $22.

Then there’s dinner for $20, $30, and $40.

Beyond offering tasty food to residents who might not otherwise drop dough in such fine-dining establishments, the event aims to keep people — perhaps people tempted by Winterlicious—eating a little closer to home.
