A fire at a Burlington townhouse complex sent one person to hospital and caused extensive damage late Friday night (March 1).

The Burlington Fire Department reports that crews were called to the location at Upper Middle Road just after 11 p.m. and found smoke coming from the home when they arrived.

Three people were inside at the time but managed to make their way out of the home. One person was injured and taken to hospital but the extent of the injuries is not known.

It took about two hours to bring the fire under control.
