Open beer, cannabis found in car driving along Burlington/Oakville border

Ontario Provincial Police have charged a man after a vehicle stopped along the QEW near the border of Burlington and Oakville turned up an open bottle of beer and a cannabis apparatus.

According to the OPP, Highway Safety Division officers on patrol first noticed a vehicle heading westbound on the highway today (April 18) in violation of High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lane rules.

The vehicle was pulled over as Oakville becomes Burlington and there officers discovered the opened items. The apparatus is used to inhale cannabis.

A further investigation revealed that the operator of the vehicle was behind the wheel with a suspended driver’s license.

Police say several charges have now been filed.

The name of the person charged has not been released.
