Oshawa Generals post third best attendance in OHL; ten CHL teams higher than NHL’s Coyotes

The Oshawa Generals posted the eighth-highest attendance in the Canadian Hockey League last season and the third highest in the OHL.
The Generals’ average attendance of 5,037 was tops in the Eastern Conference and trailed only London (#2 overall at 8,995) and Kitchener (#5 at 6,261) in the Ontario Hockey League.
Quebec Remparts, the Patrick Roy-coached team headed to the Memorial Cup as Quebec champions, are number one in the country with average attendance of 9,672.
“Our attendance figures this season are a testament to the amazing members of GensNation,” said Brandon Wright, the team’s Manager, Media Relations and Game Presentation. “Night in and night out they have supported the organization both on and off the ice, hammering home what we have said all along, that we have the greatest fans in the entire CHL.”
The rest of the top 10 has Halifax in third (7,642), Edmonton in fourth (6,4120), Spokane (5,842) and Everett (5,840) in the #6 and #7 spots, followed by Kamloops (4,902) and Calgary (4,874) at #9 and #10.
All ten junior clubs posted attendance figures for the 2022-23 season higher than the NHL’s Arizona Coyotes, who played this past season in tiny Mullett Arena in Tempe (capacity 4,600), home of the Arizona State University varsity squads.
