Over 40,000 free COVID-19 rapid screening tests have been ordered by businesses in Milton, according to the Town’s Chamber of Commerce.

The Milton Chamber of Commerce is a not-for-profit, membership-based, volunteer-driven organization that represents more than 700 member businesses and individuals. On their website, small and medium-sized employers have the ability to order free workplace rapid test kits.

In order to participate in the Workplace Self Screening program, all participants must agree to immediately report their results as soon as employees have been tested.

Milton residents and businesses are also reminded that Halton Region Public Health does not need to be notified of any positive workplace self-screening test results.

“Anyone who screens positive through a Workplace Self-Screening Kit will need to make an appointment at a COVID-19 testing location to receive a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test within 24 hours,” states the Milton Chamber of Commerce’s website.

“They must also self-isolate immediately and will not be permitted in the workplace until the result of the PCR test is known. Public Health will contact those who receive a positive PCR test directly.”
