Person struck and killed by train in Burlington

A person has been struck and killed by a GO Train in Burlington Friday morning (Nov. 20) and police are currently on scene investigating.
Transit delays and cancellations are likely, the Transit provider said, as an investigation into the fatal incident, which happened just east of Burlington GO, is underway.
GO says the Aldershot GO 07:55 – Union Station 09:00 train will need to hold until further notice and trains will not be able to move through the area until a full investigation is completed.

“There will be significant delays and possible cancellations,” GO Transit says in an update on their website.
“We expect it will take about 2 hours before we can return to regular service. We will continue to send updates as the situation evolves.”
Bus service will be offered between Aldershot and Appleby GO stations. Train service will be hourly between Appleby and Union Station.
