Oakville’s ultimate children’s event, packed with loads of family fun and live entertainment, is returning to town.

The fourth annual Oakville Children’s Festival is taking place on Sunday, July 9.

The festival is relocating to Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre (QEPCCC) this year because of rising lake levels and flooding at Coronation Park.

This year’s headliner is Treehouse furry favourites Toopy and his best friend Binoo, performing Toopy and Binoo: Fun and Games. (You know you’ll be singing along!).

Other featured acts include comedian and juggler Bob Cates, singer Mike Ford, silk acrobatic artist Heather Govender, KaHa:wi Dance Theatre’s Pow Wow Bootcamp, First Nations storyteller Cheri Maracle, the Compound All Star Urban Dance Team, ROCKgarden Party!, Toyland Puppet Show, and street magicians Mike D’Urzo and Ray Chance.

There’s also loads of hands-on activities such as the 4th Trafalgar Scout Group, Addison Music, Aiza’s Teddy Bear Foundation, Annex Dance Academy, archery, Art House, Atlas Behaviour Consultation, Balletomane Inc., Bricks 4 Kidz, bubble soccer, Burlington Blast Ringette, Burl-Oak Theatre Group, CheerForce Inc., City Parent Scavenger Hunt, and many more.

Here’s everything you need to know before heading over:

The address is 2302 Bridge Rd., and admission is free (keep in mind, the event runs rain or shine).

The relocation offers an opportunity for free swims at QEPCCC pool (you can pick up wristbands at 9:30 a.m.). Swims are at the following times: 10 a.m. to11 a.m.; 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.; 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.; 1:45 p.m. to 2:45 p.m., and 3 p.m. until 4 p.m.

Exclusively this year, attendees can celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary with a dance performance by Oakville’s Balletomane Inc. and an ArtHouse community mural.

Food services will include Kinsmen Club of Oakville BBQ lunch, plus many of the GTA’s most popular food trucks.

There’s no car parking on site, but bike parking will be available.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to take the Oakville Transit shuttle service from the Bronte GO station.

Remember to bring blankets, sunblock, and reusable water bottles!
