Police arrest four after 52 catalytic converters thefts in Burlington

The Halton Regional Police have arrested and laid charges against three males and one female in relation to multiple thefts of catalytic converters from motor vehicles throughout Burlington. <

The Halton Regional Police have arrested and laid charges against three males and one female in relation to multiple thefts of catalytic converters from motor vehicles throughout Burlington. 

According to police, a total of 52 catalytic converters thefts have occurred in the City of Burlington since Oct of 2019. 

Investigators from 30 Division were reportedly involved in the patrolling of various car lots throughout Burlington on Tuesday (Feb 25) and officers say four suspects were seen removing a catalytic converter from a motor vehicle parked at the Aldershot GO Station.

Police arrested all four suspects without incident and recovered the stolen property. 

An investigation by the Burlington Criminal Investigations Bureau has led to charges against the following individuals:

Justin TURCOTTE (28 years old from Hamilton)

  • Theft Under $5,000
  • Failure to Comply with Recognizance
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance (Fentanyl)

Christopher PALINKAS (34 years old from Hamilton)

  • Theft Under $5,000, four counts

Adam MORIN (22 years old from Hamilton)

  • Theft Under $5,000
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance (Fentanyl)

Amy-Lynn MORIN (33 years old from Hamilton)

  • Theft Under $5,000

Justin Turcotte was held for a bail hearing on Feb 25 while the other three individuals were released from police custody on a Promise to Appear and Undertaking.
