Police arrest youth who barricaded himself  in a home  in Oakville

A male who allegedly barricaded himself in an Oakville home while holding a knife has been arrested, police say. 

A male who allegedly barricaded himself in an Oakville home while holding a knife has been arrested, police say. 

Halton police say that on July 8, 2020, officers arrived in the Upper Middle Road and Ninth Line area to respond to a call regarding a male barricaded in a home who was armed with a knife.

Frontline officers, TAC, K9, and negotiators were deployed to the scene.

Roads were closed to pedestrian and vehicle traffic in the immediate area.

Police say during negotiations, the male exited the home unharmed and surrendered to police. A male youth has been subsequently charged with forcible confinement and was held pending a bail hearing.

Police will not be releasing the name or age of the accused. ​
