Police asking teens in Oakville, Burlington, Milton to not play “Assassins Game”: Do homework instead

Halton police are concerned teens in Burlington, Milton, Oakville and Halton Hills might be taking part in a revival of the ‘Assassins Game’.
The game, which has a resurgence of popularity every few years, sees players attempt to ‘eliminate’ other participants using things like toy weapons or Nerf guns.
However, as police warn, with the resurgence of the game comes an uptick in calls to emergency services from people who see others brandishing fake weapons, mistaking them for real.
In fact, because of the nature of the complaints, police are even forced to occasionally respond with tactical units.
In a Tweet posted Tuesday, May, 3, in the manner of a disapproving parent, they suggest high school students, “do your homework and go to bed early. Probably just as fun.”
A warning to High School students of Halton. We heard the "Assassins Game" may be coming back. Please don't. It's dangerous.
Instead, do your homework and go to bed early. Probably just as fun.
