Police Hunt Suspect After Huge Amount of Drugs Found at Pearson Airport

A drug trafficker is being hunted by the Mounties after border agents seized a backpack full of suspected cocaine at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport.
Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) officers noticed an unclaimed backpack on the baggage carousel on Nov. 25.
The bag, weighing 20 kilograms, was off a flight from the Dominican Republic.
It was x-rayed and the images showed multiple brick-like objects inside.
Further testing of the packages indicated the substance was suspected cocaine. In total, 18 bricks of suspected cocaine were seized.
“CBSA officers are always on the lookout for contraband,” said CBSA’s regional director general in the GTA region Goran Vragovic.

“This seizure demonstrates our commitment to Canadians to intercept illegal narcotics and prevent them from hitting the streets of our communities.”
The substance was turned over to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
CBSA officers in the Greater Toronto Area have seized more than 877 kgs of suspected cocaine so far in 2017.
