UPDATED: Police Hunt Suspect in Burlington Stabbing
A Waterdown man is wanted after a stabbing in Burlington sent a victim to hospital with a punctured lung early Tuesday.
“We’re still trying to track down witnesses,” said Halton police Det. Jared McLeod, adding investigators are also looking for surveillance footage from businesses in the area.
The incident took place at 12:45 a.m.
That’s when two men - who know each other- were outside The Poacher pub on Pearl St. in downtown Burlington.
They got into a disagreement which turned physical.
The victim, a 22-year-old Burlington man, was stabbed in the left side of his chest and the suspect fled, Halton police allege.
It’s unclear what was used as a weapon.
Paramedics treated the victim before taking him to Hamilton General Hospital, where he remains in stable condition.
He’s expected to make a full recovery, say investigators.
The suspect has been identified as Daniel Richard Flenniken, 23.
He’s wanted for assault causing bodily harm and assault with a weapon.
Investigators are encouraging Flenniken to get a lawyer and turn himself in.
