Police identify person ‘associated’ with fetus found in Oakville park

Halton Regional Police have identified a person in connection with a fetus they found in an Oakville Park earlier this month.

At around 8:45 a.m. on May 19, a pedestrian discovered the fetus while walking near Munn’s creek at Oakdale Park.

In an update provided by police on Monday (May 29), investigators said they had identified an “individual associated” in connection with the investigation.

“Police are working cooperatively with the Corner’s Office as the investigation continues,” police said in a media release.

Police did not provide any further information on the fetus or the case.

No arrests or charges have been laid at this time.

The Halton Regional Police Homicide Unit is conducting the investigation and is seeking anyone with information or video, including dash cam, of the area to contact its tip line at 905-825-4776.

Investigators are requesting video taken after May 18 at approximately 7 p.m.

It is the mandate of the HRPS Homicide Unit to investigate all paediatric death occurrences.
