Police are looking for two suspects in connection with a break-and-enter in Oakville where a window was melted in a garage.

The break-in happened around 3 a.m. on Tuesday, March 28 on Heritage Way in Glen Abbey, Halton Regional Police tell inhalton.com.

Two people reportedly broke into the garage. The window of the garage was melted and the automatic garage door opener was broken. The suspects manually opened the garage door.

Once inside the garage, the two people each stole a mountain bike and left, police say.

A resident was inside the house and felt the garage door being opened, police say. The resident went outside to investigate and saw two suspects leaving with the bikes. The resident then contacted police.

Later on March 28, the  bicycles were recovered in a bush near the home.

This break-in may be related to another that happened on the same day. In a nearby driveway, police reportedly saw a vehicle with a smashed window and saw a garage door opener on the driveway.

Police believe the culprits broke into the car, took the garage door opener and used it to get into the home’s garage. Two chainsaws were reportedly missing from this garage.

As of April 3, no arrests have been made.

The suspects are described as “likely male wearing dark coloured jackets with hoods.”
