Police search for leads following double shooting in Burlington

Police are turning to the public for leads after a double shooting in Burlington sent two people to hospital on the weekend.

The shooting happened between the hours of 1:00 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. on Saturday (June 24) in the area of Lakeshore Rd. and James St., police say.

When officers arrived on the scene they found two male victims, both victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Both men were transported to hospital and police say a 25-year-old was seriously injured while a 31-year-old suffered minor injuries.

Police believe the suspect fled the area on foot after the shooting and officers are looking to speak with anyone who may be able to help with the investigation. No suspect description has been released and police say they are speaking with witnesses and reviewing surveillance footage to confirm an accurate description.
