Police Seek Bicycle-Riding Robbery Suspect in Burlington

A purse-snatching suspect who targeted an elderly woman in Burlington is on the run.

The incident unfolded on July 11 at 11:34pm at a plaza at 2421 New St.

A purse-snatching suspect who targeted an elderly woman in Burlington is on the run.

The incident unfolded on July 11 at 11:34pm at a plaza at 2421 New St.

An unknown male suspect approached the woman from behind and demanded her purse.

The suspect grabbed the purse and a struggle ensued which resulted in the victim getting knocked to the ground and hitting her head.

The purse strap broke and the suspect left with the victim’s purse on a bicycle riding towards New St.

Police searched the area with no luck.

The suspect is described as white, in his twenties, standing 5-foot-9 to six feet.

He was wearing a baseball hat and black Champion running shoes.
