The conditions are right to put on the skates and enjoy a scenic view of the lake at the same time.

Skating is now available at Burlington Rotary Centennial Pond and will continue throughout winter.

Sponsored by Cogeco, the pond is open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and offers a 10,000 square-foot area of skating space that overlooks Lake Ontario.

The year-round water facility is turned into a skating each winter and has provided free skating opportunities for Burlington residents for a number of years.

Even if you don’t have skates you can borrow them onsite.

To check the ice conditions each day you can call 905-335-7738 ext. 8587 for updates. And today (Dec. 18) you are good to go.

The address is 1340 Lakeshore Rd.

Hours may vary on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Skate lending hours are Monday to Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m., Friday from 5 to 10 p.m., and weekends and school breaks from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
