Popular Oakville haunted house returns to provide spooky fun and help out local food bank

Nothing like a haunted house in Oakville that provides a scary good time and helps out the less fortunate in the meantime.
The Solingate Manor and its host of ghosts, skeletons and spooky goblins is back after a year off due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The haunted house, located at 111 Solingate Dr., is open to visitors every night from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. right through to Halloween night on Oct. 31.
With demonic creatures hanging from the trees and a mammoth gargoyle warning passersby to stay away, Todd Writz’s spooky playground has provided a scary good time for 29 years now.
“I want it to be spooky, but not scary,” Wirtz said on the Manor’s website. “It’s for the kids. It’s about fun and enjoying the season.”
The popular haunted house also offers a “helping hand to the less fortunate in our community,” by supporting the Oakville Fareshare Food Bank.
