The new St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Secondary School in Milton just got the official go-ahead from the provincial government.

As part of Ontario’s ongoing efforts to build and improve local schools, the province has confirmed an investment of $67M for the Halton Catholic District School Board to award the tender. This includes additional funding of $13.5 million.

“The funding for the St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Secondary School is great news for our community,” said Parm Gill, MPP for Milton.

“I am most proud of our government for investing in new state-of-the-art equipment for the children and teachers. This investment will ensure families and students have access to a quality learning environment now and in the years ahead.”

Once completed, the school will have room for 1,611 students. The investment is part of the province spending $14 billion to support school construction, repair, and renewal over 10 years.

“Additional funding for the construction of St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Secondary School is wonderful news for the students, staff and families in this growing school community in Milton”, said Marvin Duarte, Chair of the Halton Catholic School Board.

“As a Catholic school district, we recognize the importance of community. We value the continued partnership and collaboration with MPP Parm Gill and his dedication to the needs of our Milton students and families.”

St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Secondary School will be located at the intersection of Louis St. Laurent Ave. and Kennedy Cir.
