Public access to washrooms will now be available on weekends at Burlington City Hall

The City of Burlington just announced that beginning this weekend, City Hall will be open for public access to washrooms for the entire summer.
With COVID-19 restrictions still in place and more Burlington residents spending time at city parks, it’s no surprise that people have needed additional access to washrooms.
Mayor Marianne Meed Ward addressed the issue in a recent interview with inhalton.com‘s Khaled Iwamura after concerns surfaced online from several of the park’s visitors following the Victoria Day long weekend.
“The washrooms filled up very quickly,” Meed Ward told Iwamura. “There were long lineups for the indoor washrooms.”
“There were people getting frustrated. We had to call in extra cleaning in the middle of the day when normally we don’t have to, so we know that this is an issue and it’s not just going to be an issue now,” she said.
According to Meed Ward’s Twitter, public access to washrooms at City Hall will now be available Fridays from 4:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

While the city still needs more permanent washrooms at locations such as Spencer Smith Park and Beachway Park, Meed Ward told Iwamura that the city has brought in additional Porta Potties in the meantime.
