Quebec man arrested following alleged carjacking attempts in Halton Hills, Milton

A Quebec teenager is facing several charges after alleged carjackings in Halton Hills and Milton.

In the early morning hours of Thursday, Feb. 1, a Halton police officer attempted to stop a suspicious vehicle in in Halton Hills, which was later identified as a stolen vehicle from Georgetown.

The vehicle did not stop for police and later entered a ditch near the intersection of Fourth Line and Number 5 Side Road.

The driver of the vehicle fled the scene on foot and was not arrested.

At about 9 a.m., the same suspect attempted to carjack a parked vehicle from the area of Steeles Ave. E. and James Snow Pkwy. in Milton. The suspect attempted to grab the door and enter the occupied vehicle. The driver was able to lock the doors and the suspect fled the scene.

Police showed up and were able to locate and arrest the suspect after a brief foot chase.

Tom Fournier, 18, of Pincourt, Que., has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, possession of stolen property, fleeing from police, and attempted robbery.
