Halton police have come down hard on a teenage driver for racing in front of an Oakville school.

Reports say the 17-year-old G2 motorist was pulled over during the lunch hour (Nov. 22) in front of Holy Trinity Catholic Secondary School after racing by “hundreds of students” who were standing outside the building on Sixth Line.

Police believe the driver was showing off in front of the students who were outside on their break.

The driver, who cannot be named, had his license suspended and vehicle impounded by police.

Police were using a unmarked vehicle.

“Driving is a privilege; roads have rules,” police said through social media about the incident.
