Remembrance Day Transit Changes to be Aware of in Oakville
Remembrance Day is coming up and there are some transit changes in Oakville you may want to be aware of.
On Nov. 11 Oakville Transit will run on a regular Sunday schedule.
Veterans in uniform or showing their Veterans identification will ride for free.
Temporary route detours:
Routes 14/14A and 17 will not be travelling into downtown Oakville from approximately 10 a.m. to noon due to the Remembrance Day ceremony.
Route 14/14A West -- 10:10, 10:40, 11:10 and 11:40 a.m. from the Oakville GO station will detour via Cross, Speers, Kerr, Rebecca and return to regular route.
Route 14/14A East -- 10:15, 10:45, 11:15 and 11:45 a.m. from South Oakville Centre will travel to Rebecca until Kerr, then proceed north on Kerr, to Speers and Cross into the GO station.
Route 17 -- 10:10, 10:40, 11:10 and 11:40 a.m. from the Oakville GO station will travel south on Kerr, east on Bond, south on Chisholm, east on Rebecca, north on Forsythe and return to Bond Street.
Replacement shuttle bus will leave the Oakville GO station at 10:10, 10:40, 11:10 and 11:40 a.m. to provide service on Reynolds Street towards downtown Oakville during the detour.
The shuttle will travel from the GO station to Trafalgar, Cornwall, and south on Reynolds to the temporary bus stop on Church at Reynolds at the southeast corner.
The shuttle bus will leave from the temporary bus stop on Church at Reynolds at around 10:25, 10:55, 11:25 and 11:55 a.m. to return to the GO station via Church, Allan, Randall, Reynolds, Cornwall and Trafalgar.
