If you’re looking for something a little different this Halloween, you might be excited to hear that you can drink and dance in your costume at the Burlington Public Library.
On Oct. 27, partiers can celebrate the spookiest night of the year at the Central Branch location (2331 New St.) of the city’s library system. The Library After Dark with The 99s event will feature performances by The 99s (a popular band known for covering hits from the 70s, 80s, 90s and 2000s), drinks, dancing and more.
“We’re flipping the image of a dusty old library on its head with a roaring party in the stacks, featuring party band, The 99s!” the Library said on the event website.
The ticketed 19+ event will harken back to a bygone era with “throwback hits” and candy-coloured neon lights.
Tickets, which cost $55, include one drink ticket, treats from the throwback snack bar, pre-show activities such as horror story pub trivia and a costume photo booth and parking.
Additional drinks are available for purchase at the bar.
The event kicks off at 7:30 p.m. and runs until 11 p.m.
Costumes are encouraged but not required. IDs will be checked at the door and tickets are not refundable.
