Road Closed as Crews Battle Fire in Burlington

Halton Police and Burlington Fire are on scene for an incident this afternoon.

Around 1:00 p.m., police reported a dumpster fire at Eastway Plaza at the intersection of Longmoor Drive and New Street.

No injuries have been reported and there is no public safety risk, police say.

Longmoor is currently closed between New Street and Stephanie Street due to fire hoses across the roadway.

Residents should avoid the area for now.

UPDATE: The fire is out, police report. There is damage to the dumpster and the rear of the building at the plaza.

Longmoor has since reopened.
