Roads close as collision reroutes traffic through Burlington and Hamilton

A serious motor vehicle collision has forced several closures on Burlington streets this evening.

Halton Regional Police say the incident took place just after 3:30 p.m. today (May 18) on North Shore Blvd. E.

As a result of the collision westbound North Shore Blvd. E. from Maple Ave. and eastbound North Shore Blvd. E. from Francis Rd. are closed.

As well, the QEW exiting area to North Shore Blvd. E. is also closed.

The police investigation is ongoing and traffic is being diverted around the area, Reports indicate heavy vehicle congestion in the area.

Traffic is expected to be disrupted for a lengthy amount of time according to police.
