The Town of Halton Hills will be completing active transportation improvements on Maple Avenue and operational and safety modifications at the Maple Avenue and Guelph Street (Highway 7) intersection this spring.

The improvements are set to continue into the summer of 2021.

The proposed roadway improvements include new on-road and off-road active transportation facilities between Main Street and Mountainview Road and turn lane modifications and reconstruction of the signalized intersection at Maple Avenue and Guelph Street.

Additionally, they include road resurfacing and maintenance from Guelph Street to Mountainview Road and lighting to accommodate new and existing infrastructure.

“Ongoing road work is part of the Town’s annual pavement management plan and capital works construction program are designed to renew and improve infrastructure across Halton Hills,” said Mayor Rick Bonnette.

“We do our best to minimize traffic impacts however, localized traffic closures can be expected during the construction period.”

Should projects in the Roads 2021 Program be delayed, residents will receive a hand-delivered notice from the Town explaining the details.

Residents are invited to visit the Town’s engagement platform, Let’s Talk Halton Hills, to access information including maps of the proposed construction area and to connect with Town staff about the Maple Ave project with any concerns.
