School board hosting mental health information sessions for parents in Oakville, Burlington, Milton, Halton Hills

The positive mental health and well-being of students in Oakville, Burlington, Milton and Halton Hills is more important than ever today.
Which is why the Halton District School Board is hosting Mental Health & Well-Being Information Sessions this spring for parents/guardians.
The sessions will be led by a mental health expert in each of the specific areas selected based on feedback from parents/guardians.
The experts will share their knowledge and provide helpful information and resources parents/guardians can use to support their kids.
Sessions include:
- Building Executive Function Skills in Teenagers – Tuesday, April 5 at 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
- Supporting a Child who is Grieving – Thursday, April 7 at 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
- Black Mixed-race Children & Identity – Wednesday, April 27 at 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
- Mental Health, Well-Being & Autism Spectrum Disorder – Thursday, May 5 at 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
- Celebrating Neurodiversity – Monday, May 9 at 7 – 7:45 p.m.
- Supporting 2SLGBTQIA+ Students – Tuesday, May 17 at 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
- Anxiety & Depression in Youth – Thursday, May 19 at 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
Parents/guardian must register for the session as there are limited spots available. They can register by completing the Mental Health & Well-Being Information Sessions Registration Form.
Sessions, which are not recorded, will be held on Google Meet, where closed captioning is available in various languages. Registrants will be emailed a link to access the session.
Parents/guardians can submit questions when completing the registration form or during the session.
